A new debate about Ethereum has emerged in the crypto community, as members now argue whether ETH can run the entire financial system. The discussion has caught the attention of pro-crypto lawyer Bill Morgan as well as members of the XRP community who have long advocated the XRP\u2019s use case within global banking systems<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Finance Expert Says All Banks Will \u201cGo To Ethereum\u201d<\/h2>\n

Raoul Pal<\/a>, co-founder and CEO of Real Vision, a US-based financial media company, has sparked widespread reactions in the crypto community after recently commenting<\/a> on Ethereum\u2019s potential role in the global banking system<\/a>. Morgan, reacting to Pal\u2019s comment on X, stated that the Real Vision CEO was essentially forecasting that \u201call banks will use Ethereum.\u201d<\/p>\n

Morgan\u2019s statement, which some interpreted as sarcastic, did not clearly agree or oppose Pal\u2019s rather ambitious claim. Instead, he called<\/a> it a \u201cbold\u201d prediction, and questioned the real conviction behind it and whether Pal was willing to bet on it.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The pro-crypto lawyer shared a screenshot of Pal\u2019s statement, in which the Real Vision CEO outlined why he believes Ethereum could eventually play a central role in the global financial system. Pal noted that he found it humorous and ironic that just one to two years ago, many market participants were dismissing ETH as a \u201cdead\u201d asset<\/a>, arguing that its relevance had faded while questioning its long-term value.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Pal took a different view, pushing back against that narrative by pointing to Ethereum\u2019s underlying functionality<\/a> and growth over the years. While others criticized the cryptocurrency, Pal believed the global banking system would eventually adopt ETH as a core chain.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He added that this does not mean the future would become a mono-chain world where everything runs on a single blockchain. Rather, he explained that his point is based on how financial institutions typically operate.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Pal pointed out that banks usually prioritize systems that prove they can survive, perform consistently, and remain sustainable over long periods. He also added that financial institutions tend to favor older technologies, since people are generally cautious of adopting new systems that could backfire and put their jobs at risk. From that perspective, he believes that Ethereum is the ideal digital network for all banks to use, as institutions mostly adopt technologies that meet those standards.<\/p>\n

Under Morgan\u2019s post, members of the crypto community shared mixed reactions to Pal\u2019s claims that the \u201cbanking system will go to Ethereum.\u201d\u00a0 While some agreed with the claims, many criticized it, arguing<\/a> that Pal has a history of making predictions<\/a> that are \u201cwrong and misleading.\u201d<\/p>\n
